The 11^th Beijing University Student Architectural Structure Design Competition Group B concluded on 12 June, 2022. This competition is held to cultivate the spirit and practical capabilities of university students for scientific and technological innovation, improve their scientific literacy and scientific research skills, and promote the academic achievements of college students in Beijing, while promoting scientific and technological exchanges among students. As announced previously, the two participating teams representing BJUT, namely “Five Continents Blooming” and “Three Mountains”, triumphed by winning the first prize in Beijing! This is the sixth consecutive year for FACTE to win such an honor in Beijing!

The project "Five Continents Blooming - Olympic Culture Exhibition Center" directed by Li Ning and Sun Guojun uses the Field algorithm to simulate the magnetic field radiating outward from the centre of the five rings, spatializing the plane magnetic field in the shape of the five rings. The magnetic field lines present the shape of petals, embracing the Olympic spirit in its white and transparent structure. The shape and structural nodes of the pavilion are optimized by using the Kangaroo dynamic algorithm and plug-ins. The single-layer network structure is adopted as inspired by the "Raphael Cloud Gallery". The flexible space layout and the agile structure selection symbolize the Olympic spirit and the power of China in the new era.

The project "Three Mountains - Landscape Bridge across the River" directed by Liu Yue and Li Xiangyu, with pictographs and Chinese landscape paintings as the inspiration for the appearance design, creates an elegant ambience of walking through the mountains for vehicles and pedestrians. The self-supporting central structure symbolizes that China is developing unswervingly, independently and steadily along the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The two outer parts of structure symbolizes are partially cantilevered, representing our harmonious friendship with neighboring countries and regions, as well as the cooperative relationship between China and the rest of the world, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and its surrounding cities.  

FACTE has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' competence in scientific and technological innovation. The students have won many awards in national leading scientific and technological events, such as "Challenge Cup", "Internet +" and " Youth Creation”, achieving a breakthrough in different competitions for universities in Beijing.
