On 9 July 2022, an academic conference with the theme of "Rural Space Planning and Governance for High-Quality Development" was successfully hosted by Department of Urban and Rural Planning of School of Urban Construction of Beijing University of Technology, with six co-organizers: Small Town Planning Academic Committee of the China Urban Planning Society, Village and Town Planning Academic Committee of Beijing Urban Planning Society, Village and Town Planning Research Centre of the Beijing Institute of Urban Planning and Design, and Beijing Agricultural Road Research Centre, China Urban Development Planning and Design Consulting Co., Ltd., Beijing University of Technology Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. The conference received support from "Urban Development Research", "Small Town Construction", "China Construction News", "China Net" and other academic journals and media. The conference was joined by Professor Zhang Yue of Tsinghua University as well as other well-known scholars from Tongji University, Tianjin University, Chongqing University, Nanjing University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Politecnico di Milano, Shenzhen University and Beijing University of Technology. The industry practitioners from China Urban Development Planning and Design Consulting Co., Ltd., Beijing Urban Planning and Design Institute, Beijing Chengyuan Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and Beijing Tsinghua Tongheng Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. were also invited for keynote speeches and academic exchanges.
