Personal Statement

Wen XIONG, an associate professor at the School of Urban Construction, Beijing University of Technology. He is committed to the intelligent design of historic districts, urban walking and non-motor vehicle planning and other research. It has undertaken a number of research projects, such as the key project of the National Social Science Fund "Research on Humanistic Observation and Governance of Chinese Streets" and the National Natural Science Foundation project "Theoretical Research on Spatial Planning of Urban Slow Traffic Based on Slow Traffic Threshold". Participated in  and complete the Specialized National Plan for slow traffic in the completion of Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Cangzhou, Tianjin Binhai New Area, Qingdao Jimo and other cities. He has won the National Outstanding Paper Award for 7 times and made nearly 30 communication reports in important conferences such as TRB and China Urban Planning Annual Conference.

Wen XIONG is the chief planner of Dashilar Street, the first historical and cultural block in China. Formed a fusion wisdom, transportation planning, municipal facilities, urban ecological garden, safety of disaster prevention and other interdisciplinary team, focusing on: (1) slow traffic guide the historic district renewal, (2) wisdom system driver management, (3) the historical block vulnerable groups living and living conditions improve, (4) Xuannan old and civil spiritual Renaissance, historical block (5) update the cross-border cooperation and jointly created.He founded the People‘s Street Lab, developed the people-oriented survey method, testing equipment and platform, and the results have been included in the first core area control and regulation, Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission Public Space Transformation Demonstration Project, Beijing International Design Week Navigator Program.Awarded the honorary title of Beijing Excellent Responsibility Planner for three consecutive years.
