Personal statement

Professor DAI Fuchu obtained his B.Sc. and M.Phil. from Xi’an College of Geology (now Chang’an University) in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and Ph.D. from Institute of Geology at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1997. He worked in Institute of Geography at CAS as a post-doc from 1997 to 1999, and then as a research associate professor from 1999 to 2004. He was employed to work in the University of Hong Kong as a research assistant from Nov. 1995 to Nov. 1996, as a research associate from May 1999 to May 2001, as a senior research assistant from Feb. 2002 to Sept. 2002 and then a research assistant professor from Oct. 2002 to Feb. 2004. He joined Institute of Geology and Geophysics at CAS as a research professor from Feb. 2002 to July 2014, and then joined Beijing University of Technology from July 2014. His research interests include: hydrological processes of hillslopes prone to landsliding, failure processes of soil and causative mechanism of landsliding, GIS and RS based landslide risk assessment. He has published over sixty SCI journal papers, which have been cited in Web of Science for more than 4000 times.
