Personal Statement

Zhou Hongyuan, Ph.D, professor and doctoral adviser. He was awarded bachelor and master degree in Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and Ph.D in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2012. Hongyuan leads and participates in more than 10 national and international projects granted by organizations such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, Defense Science and Technology Agency (Singapore), Ministry of National Development (Singapore), and published more than 40 SCI indexed papers in major international journals. He once served as the guest editor of International Journal of Impact Engineering, and editorial board member of Shock and Vibration. Hongyuan has served as the deputy director of the Youth Committee on Disaster Prevention of Infrastructures-Seismological Society of China, and academic committee member of the Tianjin Key Lab of Modular Structures and Intelligent Construction.
