Personal Statement

Dr. Jiawei Ren is currently an associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering (FACTE), Beijing University of Technology (BJUT). He completed his PhD degree at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and then worked as postdoctoral research fellow in both UTS and University of Melbourne, Australia. In 2021, Dr. Jiawei Ren was awarded with the Global Youth Talent Program by Beijing Overseas Talents Center. Jiawei Ren has published more than 20 high quality journal papers, 2 book chapters and 2 national invention patents. His current research interests include membrane development for resource recovery, desalination, groundwater remediation, electrospinning of nanofibers for environmental application, solar evaporation, synthesis of nanoparticles including photothermal materials, and additive manufacturing technology.
